Darren's disco vinyl rips

Hello there. I am a lover of 70s disco music, and own a vast collection of CDs, Cassettes, Vinyl and mp3s covering
this period. My collection includes everything from the well known (Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor) through to the
completely obscure - currently over 10,000 tracks. I have been "ripping" my vinyl collection (and those of some
friends with the same taste in music) to create mp3s. This web site is dedicated to those mp3s. You probably found
this page as a result of acquiring an mp3 which I originally created; if so please let me know which mp3(s) you have!

If you collect mp3s, you'll probably be aware that there's a lot of rubbish out there. Some rips are recorded in mono,
or have lots of crackles and pops, pitched too fast, pitched too slow, truncated. etc. etc. There's nothing more
frustrating than spending time downloading a file to find it's no good! In contrast, my mp3s are all created with
care. I first record the record, in stereo, on my PC sound card, then use software to remove crackles and pops,
background noise, and to equalise and amplify before saving as mp3s at 192kbps. I also scan in the front and back
covers of LPs, and the labels of all records, and anything else.
